The Lord is my keeper. He comforts me in my time of troubles. He guides me and directs me. The Lord is faithful. He is faithful in spite of my weaknesses, fears, doubts, and disobedience. The Lord is my comforter and my provider. The Lord has placed desires within my heart to do things that I fear doing.  However, He will be glorified in my obedience and submission unto Him. I have anxiety at times and stand still in fear of the what? how? who? when? and why? When these thoughts take over I have stopped trusting in the Lord in order to find my own solution. This is wrong and shows my lack of faith. Plus – it never works out well. In my own intelligence, wit, planning, and scheming I never meet my goal. I always miss the mark, and will surely disappoint myself and those around me. However, when I trust in the Lord I find peace.

The Bible recounts Jesus’ words about worrying in Matthew 6:25 -34 ESV.

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

God is always sure to show me that HIS will will be done and that I only need to petition Him to find my answers and peace.

I hope that this will encourage you.

Lord,  thank you for always caring for my needs. Thank you for being my provider and my strength. Father, keep my eyes focused on you and your will for me alone as I journey through this life. Let me not stray into my own will and desires forsaking the truth. Thank you for your grace and mercy when I forget who you are, and whose I am. Thank you, Father, for loving me.

– Amen
